We will be having pizza at the beginning of the Packing Party. Please sign up online so we know how many in your family (adults and children) will be in attendance. We need an accurate head count for the pizza. Kids will have class and help pack a shoebox during their game time.
As we approach the upcoming election, it’s important for us to be informed and discerning in how we vote on the various issues before us. We have found the following website to help explain the moral issues at hand as we vote. Please go to www.ccv.org and click on the “Elections” tab.

Everyone is invited! Our time will include a meal, multi-generational activities and age specific breakouts.

This weekend we were planning to celebrate and rejoice in fellowship with one another as the youth group served a dinner to our church family. It was going to be a wonderful evening of celebration, and it still will be! But what we also recognize is this is a time for our church to mourn together. With the passing of Therese Betar last week, and this week one of the elders at our church, Spencer Jordan, we felt it would be in the best interest of Eaton Community Church that our youth group join in mourning this weekend.
In Romans 12, Paul shares with the Roman Christians what it looks like to be a church. Out of the love we have for one another, a love that is grounded in Christ Jesus, Paul says these words:
ROMANS 12:15 NIV
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
This is a difficult time in the life of our church, even more for the families and loved ones who are directly affected by these recent deaths. We don’t mourn for Therese and Spencer. We know their rewards are being realized as I’m writing this! Rather, we mourn because of what we no longer have and because of what our friends and loved ones at ECC have lost. It reminds us that this world is simply not our home… and that is sad! Our call as believers is to share these experiences together. That’s why we care so deeply to Share Life and Share Christ with one another. So as a youth group, we feel it best to share this time of sadness together.
