End of Year Gifts to the Church

Sunday, December 31 is the last day to have all end-of-the-year gifts to the church to be included on your 2023 Giving Statement. The deadline for giving through Simple Give has passed. Thank you!

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, we invite you to participate in one of our two services on Christmas Eve. At 10am and 6pm on Christmas Eve Day, we will worship together through the telling of the Christmas story with music, scripture, prayer, and reflection.

EFT is currently spending $1,500 a month to purchase water from Lake Victoria which is over 250 miles away.  Mission & Outreach is challenging us to raise $24,000 by December 31^st through monetary donations by listing “Wells” on our giving envelopes or give online and check the box “Eternal Families – Wells” on Simple-Give. $19,4255 has been given as of Sunday, Dec 17.

God’s best to Konner Kuhn who was baptized December 3. Konner is the son of Kevin and Laura Kuhn.

ECC Students – Progressive Dinner

Sunday, December 17

Each year our student ministry celebrates Christmas by traveling to different locations, sharing a portion of a meal, talking about Jesus, and then heading on to the next place. It’s called a progressive dinner, and each portion of the meal (appetizer, salad, main course, dessert) happens at a different person’s home within the church. Similar to last year, we’ll be sending a group of Middle Schoolers as well as a group of High Schoolers to different areas. Details of the event are below:

• Start Time -Meet at ECC at 3:30pm
• End Time: Approximately 9pm
• Cost – Free
• Please let us know if you have any allergies.

Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Gift Drop Off Week

Mon – Fri, Nov 13-17: 4 – 6pm and Sat, Nov 18: 10am – Noon

All filled boxes should be returned to ECC by Sunday, November 19.

The Food Pantry is collecting items for Christmas meals to be given out to families in December:

• 2 cans green beans
• 2 cans mixed vegetables
• Egg noodles
• Stuffing mix
• Instant potatoes
• Dessert mix
• Pancake mix
• Syrup
• Cocoa mix
• Flout
• Sugar
• Vegetable oil
• Spices: chili powder, garlic salt, salt, pepper, etc.
• Please place items in the grocery cart in the entryway. Thank you for your generous living.

OCC Shoebox Gifts Packing Party

Wednesday, November 8, 6-8pm

We will be having pizza at the beginning of the Packing Party. Please sign up online so we know how many in your family (adults and children) will be in attendance. We need an accurate head count for the pizza. Kids will have class and help pack a shoebox during their game time.

Being Prepared to Vote on November 7th

As we approach the upcoming election, it’s important for us to be informed and discerning in how we vote on the various issues before us. We have found the following website to help explain the moral issues at hand as we vote. Please go to www.ccv.org and click on the “Elections” tab.

ECC Students Fall Retreat 2023

The theme this year is Humility: The Art of Laying Our Crowns Down

• November 3rd – 5th
• For Students 7th – 12th Grade
• Cost: $125 per student (ask about our discount for siblings)
• Location: Walnut Ridge, Morgantown, IN
• Deadline to Register: Oct. 31
• Dinner on Sunday: We will be stopping for dinner on the way home. Suggested $10

Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Gifts

• Join us for the Packing Party on Wednesday, November 8 from 6-8pm. We will be having pizza at the beginning of the Packing Party. Please sign up online so we know how many in your family (adults and children) will be in attendance. We need an accurate head count for the pizza.
• Take a tag form the Christmas Tree, purchase 1 or more items listed on the tag and then return the tag with the donation items to the box at the table.
• Pack a shoebox at home or online.
• Donate to help cover shipping costs and the cost of the Greatest Journey materials.

Once Around Shop Volunteers Needed

Volunteers Needed:  Dedicate to a 4 hour shift per week

Cashier: Responsible for operating simple cash register and accepting cash, checks and charge payments.

Warehouse:  Accept and sort donated items, hang clothes, and prepare items for the sales floor.
