ECC Midweek Update – August 12, 2020

Contend for the Faith

Take a look at this weeks update as Pastor Dan talks about the warning and challenge from Jude 3 to contend for the faith. Click here to watch.

“Contend for The Faith” Commitment

I invite you to read the following passage of scripture and pray about how God is asking you to step out in obedience and contend for the faith that Jude speaks of in Jude 3. “I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people.”

Jude 20-23 – 20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. 22 Be merciful to those who doubt; 23 save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.

In continued prayer and reflection, review and complete the following statements.

I commit to “contend for the faith” (Jude 3) in this season alongside others from ECC in two ways.

I will specifically be a part of “building up our faith” (Share Life) by…

  • As you pray about this step of commitment. Think about “building up our faith” as…
    • A personal commitment that strengthens the body of Christ. (Not in isolation.)
    • A sacrificial commitment that builds your devotion to Jesus Christ.
    • A disciplined commitment that stretches your faith.

    • A personal commitment that demonstrates your faith to others.
    • A sacrificial commitment that humbly loves others in faith.
    • A disciplined commitment that communicates the truth of God to others.

Mask Policy at ECC

We have received questions regarding the mask policy mandated by the Ohio Department of Health. For clarification we would like to share a few things about how we will function while this order is in place. Our compliance statement reads:

In light of the Ohio Department of Health facial mask order, we are asking that all those participating in our Worship service and Sunday morning classes wear a mask upon entering the building, with the exception of children under the age of 10 and those with medical conditions that exempt them from this requirement. We also ask that you continue to allow proper social distancing. Masks will be available for any who needs one.

Therefore,

  • Any person who is unable to wear a mask because of a medical condition is still permitted to attend worship services and classes without a mask.
  • Children under the age of 10 are not required to wear a mask in the church building.
  • We are asking all other individuals to show care and respect by wearing a facial mask.
  • Social distancing is encouraged in all settings.

Thank you for understanding. We look forward to lifting this policy as soon as we are able. Please feel free to contact the church office if you have any questions.

Sharing Life, Sharing Christ,

Pastor Dan
