What a great evening of conversation, food and giving! For those of you who may be unaware of what a progressive dinner is, it’s an evening where each course (of a 4 course meal) is shared at a different home. We want to thank the Roths, Lockers, and Hamiltons for opening up your homes to us this season! You each had delicious food, and made our evening and our bellies full!
The season of Advent is a season of waiting, designed to help us become more aware of God’s actions—past, present, and future. In Advent we hear the prophecies of the Messiah’s coming as addressed to us—people who wait for the second coming of Christ. In Advent we heighten our anticipation for the ultimate fulfillment of Old Testament promises, when death will be swallowed up and every tear will be wiped away. In this way Advent highlights for us the larger story of God’s redemptive plan.*
One of the best ways to prepare for advent is by reading God’s Word.
