We had a lot of interest to continue our Etch Elective Conversations beyond our normal season, so Pastor Dan and I have two dates planned to continue our “Conversations.” Tomorrow (4/22) and May 20th. From 6:30-8PM.
It’s a place that people can come and discuss topics of current events, biblical passages, theology and any pressing questions that we as a community of God can offer insight together. It’s a place where we can agree, and disagree and still be brothers and sisters in Christ. It’s a place where we desire questions to be asked and know there won’t be judgment for asking.
So far we’ve discussed topics like: How should Christians respond to artificial intelligence (A.I.)? Should pastors be addressing politics or current events from the pulpit? Should some sins be elevated above others? How should Christians approach people who follow other religions? Does God care about what kind of media I consume? And that’s just scratching the surface.
If you’re able to attend, we encourage you to come with Bible passages (or verses) that have been difficult for you to understand. We have a few of our own that we may start off with, but the goal will be to address some of the difficult verses our church is experiencing.
Something different about these extended courses is THERE IS NO CHILDCARE available for them. All other Etch Electives are finished for the year, that included Etch Kids. If we see a need for childcare, though, then we will certainly look into offering that in the future. Please let us know.
