ECC Family and Friends,
On this past Sunday morning of worship we began an 8 week study of the book of Philippians. In the introduction of this letter from the apostle Paul, he speaks to the church of Philippi about the “partnership in the gospel” that they “share in God’s grace” with one another. This partnership helps us understand what it means to be God’s church each and every day. A few of the things we share through God’s grace are.. joy in relationship with Him and one another, prayer to our Father for one another, spiritual growth that spurs one another toward Christlikeness, and an increasing measure of love for God and one another. What a partnership we have in Jesus Christ!
As a tangible act of cultivating this partnership with one another in the gospel we have laid before us the Philippians challenge. This challenge engages us intentionally in this partnership and encourages us to be the church and not just go to church. For the next 8 weeks, let’s engage in a new way by reading God’s Word together, praying for our church, and speaking life into others through words of encouragement or an act of service. As we do this, share your stories of how God is working in you and through you to build His Kingdom through the church.
Philippians Challenge: (Once each week for the next 8 weeks.)
Praying with you and for you!
