Name Change Voting Results

Yesterday, after each morning service, our church membership voted on the proposed recommendation from the Elder Board to change our name from “Eaton Church of the Brethren, Inc.” to “Eaton Community Church, Inc.” The results of the vote were 164 for the name change and 18 against.  This is a passing vote of 90% to move forward with the name change.

The name change will take some time to implement. The Elder Board and staff will be discussing the next steps to officially change our name, which will include legal documentation with the state.  The staff will also be making changes to our website host, our financial accounts, our logo and promotion materials, our signage, and many other administrative details. Right now we will continue to function as “Eaton Church of the Brethren” and announce the official date for our name change in the coming weeks. Please contact the office with any questions.
