ECC Students: Dodgeball tournament

On June 9th, 35 players and several spectators gathered together to partake in a tournament of epic proportions! 7 teams, each uniquely designed of five individuals sought to be the top dodgeball team in ECC Students for the remainder of the year. And what was the prize? Nothing… but PRIDE!

It was truly a fun night to watch so many adults and students (and spectators) laugh and smile at the events taking place. There were expected victories, and there were major upsets! The suspense was high and the hilarity even higher! In all, we played 28 games in just over an hour with one team coming out victorious:

THE BACKYARD BALLERS

From Left to Right: Caleb Sinks, Logan White, Aaron Clark, Josh Martin, Josh Sinks

So let’s give a round of applause for their victory, and if you happen to see them around, congratulate them, for they are the reigning ECC Students Dodgeball Champions.

Other teams to partake in the evening:
THE ECC KNIGHTS
TEAM JOY
THE NONES
THE DUCK, DUCK, CHUCKS
IMPACT
THE RUSTY NAILS

Summer Spiritual Spectacular

There are ways you can help if you are unable to attend SSS:

  • Provide food for people who come straight from work. (See Carla Clark)
  • Bring ice in coolers on Tuesday (Is your name on your cooler?)
  • Pray for specific SSS needs (we have a list of specific needs we can send by email – just ask Miss Coleen for it!)

Thank you!

Adopt An Island

The Property Team is inviting families, Life Groups and Ministry Teams to help in the care and maintenance of the parking lot islands that have mulch. If you are interested in helping with this ongoing project, call the office, 937-456-5507 or email Tami Webb, ctwebb5163@outlook.com by Friday, June 11th.

Some guidelines we’re asking you to follow:

  • Need to put down a pre-emergent like Preen for weed control prior to putting down mulch
  • Property Team will provide mulch
  • Must be kept weed free for the season
  • No perennials
  • Minimum care is to lay down mulch and keep weeded
  • Would like each island to have a homemade sign to identify who adopted the island.  Should say something like: “Adopted by the Denlinger Family” or “Adopted by the BASICS group”.

Midweek Update 5.19.21

This video was recorded in March, but was never posted…

Miss Coleen shares about our motivation for worship and our expectations for Sundays.

May 14, 2021

  June 21-25

The little one knelt at the altar.  “What did you come for?”, a grown-up asked her.  Her answer simple and pure – “I love Disney World more than I love Jesus!”   This child had been learning all week about putting God first in her life and now she saw that her greatest love was not Jesus, but a theme park on an earth that would pass away.  It’s not that this child would never go to Disney again or that she wouldn’t enjoy it anymore.  She would.  But it now had the right priority in her life – Jesus came first!

At the SUMMER SPIRITUAL SPECTACULAR, we’re challenging our kids to make a decision similar to that – giving everything in our lives to God.  In a world that is focused on getting as much as we can for ourselves, we want to teach our kids to give all we have to God – to give Him our possessions, our dreams, our activities, our schedules, our friendships, our family – to give God everything.  To go “ALL IN” with God.  To SURRENDER…That’s actually what it means to be a follower of Christ.

So where do you fit in?  It would be easy to brush this off and point to your many other activities.  But consider giving some of your time this summer to be a part of changing children’s lives – perhaps even changing a child’s eternity.  There are over 150 ways to help in SSS. It’s also a great way to get to know other people in the church and build friendships while making a difference.  Come join us in taking a “POLAR PLUNGE: GOING ALL IN WITH GOD!”.
