Mysterious underground Tunnels…gaping caverns…treasures discovered in the sands and dirt of ancient times – all images that we associate with the famous Indiana Jones! He made archeology exciting and often a “wanna-be” for many little boys. But imagine inspiring children – not to treasures or gold – but to explore God Himself and to rise up to be and become spiritual giants of the next generation! That’s part of what could happen this summer through the movie we’re now working to film.
But we can’t really get started until we have one final actor – the one who plays an Indiana Jones’ type role. God has blessed us with all the other actors we need (Thanks, God!) but we’re still praying about this final person. No one does a ministry like this because it is easy – or because they have lots of extra time – or because they think they are massively talented. No. Most of us do it because God whispers our name and we take that step of faith to do something incredibly new and different than we’ve ever done before. We do it because God is capable of working through these “earthen vessels” we call humans to do amazing things that last forever.
Treasures found in the sands last for hundreds and even thousands of year – but what we do for God lasts…f o r e v e r…Could you be the one that God uses to make that kind of difference?

There is much good that happens on this fundraising night. Students raise money to specifically go toward youth trips, such as retreats and missions trips. They get the experiencing of serving others. For our church, there is the benefit of fellowship and investment in the younger generation.
We hope you get an opportunity to experience such a wonderful evening, and we thank you for your continued support of our youth at Eaton Church of the Brethren.

Our church family is filming our very own action-adventure movie to be used during the Summer Spiritual Spectacular. Many resources are needed to make this happen. If you have a really large realistic looking fake snake we could use as a prop, contact Miss Coleen.
A Night in Little Italy is a youth fundraiser that is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year! The Great Room is turned into a small restaurant, where students and youth workers serve people a good meal and create a wonderful atmosphere for conversation with friends and family (or even a date-night). If you look at the pictures below, you’ll get an idea of what the evening will look like.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children 10 years old and under.
There are three ways for you to get a ticket. You can purchase one from a youth, buy one from our ticket booth (Sunday or Wednesday), or you can buy them at the door. Our preference is for you to purchase tickets ahead of time because it allows us to get an idea of how much food to prepare, and better organize on our end. Don’t let that keep you from purchasing on the fundraising night, however. We want you to come and enjoy the evening no matter what!
It has been a crazy January! We’ve needed to cancel two Sunday morning worship services, and one Etch because of snow hazards and dangerous temperatures. And it has definitely effected ticket sales this year. This Sunday (February 3rd) is the last Sunday to pre-order tickets.

CAPTURING THE HEARTS OF CHILDREN…
How do you capture a child’s heart? In our world today, our children’s hearts are being captured so many ideas and philosophies that are opposed to God. How do we capture their hearts FOR God? By using a medium that all our children love – MOVIES. Last year, one little girl came to SSS because she had to see what happened next in the movie!
The movie draws children in, makes children who have no desire for God want to be here at church, and it puts God’s powerful truths into their everyday language. That’s why we put so much work into creating an exciting action-adventure movie that we’ll show this summer in the Summer Spiritual Spectacular. To be a part of this incredible work, see the orange insert in Sunday’s bulletin. To access online, go to our website, eatoncob.org.
